Palu, 10/2 - The Rector of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Palu, Central Sulawesi, Prof. Dr. H. Sagaf S Pettalongi stated that the study program's accreditation of all faculties is a work priority in 2019, as a form of preparation for the instutute’s status to become State Islamic University (UIN).

"One of the national indicators of higher education quality is measured by accreditation. Therefore, accreditation is very important," said the Rector of IAIN Palu, Prof. Dr. H. Sagaf S Pettalongi M.Pd, in Palu.

Prof. Sagaf S Pettalongi opened the annual working meeting of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty (FTIK) at the IAIN Palu Hall on Saturday 9/2. The FTIK meeting brought the theme "Improving performance and optimizing governance in FTIK," followed by approximately 50 participants.

In his speech, he stated, in the faculty, there are approximately 4 study programs that needed to be accredited from C-B and from B to A.

This Education Management Expert said, in 2018, the planning and finance department has allocated a budget of around Rp 150 million, to re-accredit those study programs.

However, this has not been fully utilized, one of the factors is because IAIN Palu was affected by earthquakes, tsunamis and looting.

This year, we prioritize again, supported by the availability of a budget that is not too high. However, hopefully it can change the title of accreditation for some study programs," said the Deputy Chairman of the Central Sulawesi MUI.

He emphasized to FTIK to immediately collect data on the number of alumni, who have worked in government agencies, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises and so on.

Alumni data is important. Because it supports the acceleration of the study programs accreditation change from C to B and from B to A.

In addition to these data, one of them is to improve performance and work discipline, so that the desired effort can be realized.

"The work discipline must start from the top, from the rector, vice rectors, deans, representative of the deans, regents, head of the division and so on," he said.

IAIN Palu through the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sagaf S Pettalongi M.Pd carries a quality and competitive vision. This vision is in line with the vision of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FTIK IAIN Palu Dr. Mohammad Idhan stated that the design of a good and qualified work program will lead to success.

Therefore, Dr. Idhan said, the meeting must really construct a quality program.

He mentioned many aspects that have not been maximized in FTIK, it can be seen from the course of the academic process that has been running for more than a year in FTIK.

Therefore, the theme of the meeting is a criticism of FTIK itself, to improve towards success in improving quality.

Previously, the Ministry of Religion through the Director of PTKI, Prof. Dr. Arskal Salim has given a signal that Palu IAIN can be one of the PTKIN in Indonesia for the transition of status to UIN.

IAIN Palu was asked to prepare all of these requirements, including accreditation as one of the most important indicators in status status.
