Palu, - Rector of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palu, Central Sulawesi, Prof. Dr. Sagaf S Pettalongi M.Pd said radicalism is not appealing to grow and develop in the institute he leads.

"In addition to radical ideology is not appealing to grow and develop, we also have coaching system that is set in students ethics code and student organizations. Each student organization is supervised by several lecturers, so prevention and early detection can be done, "said Rector IAIN Palu, Prof. Sagaf S Pettalongi MPd, in Palu on Wednesday (7/6) when responding to BNPT release of seven universities exposed to radicalism.

Prof. Sagaf Pettalongi asserted that the entire academic community of IAIN Palu is not indicated and contaminated with the idea of radicalism. IAIN Palu, he mentioned, offers a solution against the growing ideology of radicalism in college.

First, according to him, intensify communication and coaching to all academic community about religious understanding that deviates from the concept of Islam, which rahmatan lilalamin.

Secondly, the Professor of Education Management said, it is necessary to strengthen the role of intra-campus organization and student development that prioritizes preventive and early detection system.

"It is necessary to maximize the role of intra-campus organizations in the development of student affairs with preventive and early detection system that is formatted in the form of student and organizational code of ethics," said Prof. Sagaf Pettalongi.

Vice Chairman of Central Sulawesi MUI mentioned, there should be special guidance to the elements that are positively indicated and contaminated with radical ideology.

"Against individuals who have been indicated to follow radical ideals, there needs to be special coaching and institutional facilitation in order to provide a thorough understanding of the importance of respecting differences without having to impose the will, and hurt others," he said.

Furthermore, he said every university should coordinate with the BNPT in terms of prevention and guidance of radical ideology that allows to emerge and develop in college.
