Sigi, Central Sulawesi, - Rector of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Palu, Central Sulawesi, Prof. Dr. H Saggaf S Pettalongi MPd stated that the campus II of IAIN in Pombewe Village, Biromaru Subdistrict, Sigi Regency, belongs to its local people.
"This campus belongs to the community, not mine, I am only temporarily given the responsibility by the government through the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This campus belongs to the Sigi community generally, and more specifically the people of Pombewe Village," said Prof. Dr. Saggaf S Pettalongi, MPd.
The statement was delivered by Prof. Saggaf S Pettalongi M.Pd when attending the ceremony of the completion of the construction of two IAIN Palu lecture building, which was held by Pombewe villagers on Saturday (10/2) evening.
According to Prof. Saggaf Pettalongi, because it belongs to the citizens, so the citizens should participate and must be responsible for the existence of the campus in that village.
"It is a shared responsibility to maintain and care for things that interfere with or diminish the campus's reputation," he said.
However, he believes that the villagers of Pombewe and Sigi districts will generally maintain the campus, as evidenced by the high appreciation and support of the residents around the campus mainly Pombewe Village residents to the existence of the campus.
He expressed the support to be a capital for IAIN Palu to accelerate development by adding IAIN building in Sigi, which will become the icon and pride of the Sigi community. He explained because it belongs to local residents, then citizens are not only responsible for maintaining and taking care of negative things. But it is also responsible to include children and young people in Sigi to study in campus.
"This belongs to the citizens of Pombewe specifically and commonly the citizens of Sigi, so citizens must enter their children to study at IAIN in Sigi," he explained. This Education Management Specialist added that the existence of IAIN Palu campus in Sigi provides many benefits to the people in the area. One of them is to participate in bringing the name of the area known by the national and international community.
Prof. Saggaf explained later the mention of the campus is IAIN Datokarama Palu in Sigi. While the campus is located in the city of Palu called IAIN in Palu.
