THE PRESIDENT IS PLANNED TO OPEN AICIS IN THE GRAND MOSQUE

Palu, (IAIN Palu Public Relations) - President Joko Widodo is planned to attend and open the implementation of the Annual International Conference on Islamic Studies entitled "Islam in Southeast Asia and the Global World" at the Great Mosque of Darussalam, Palu, Central Sulawesi, 17-21 September 2018.

The Chairman of the VIII AICIS Committee, Dr Abidin, in Palu, on Monday, stated that the plan of President Joko Widodo's presence had been delivered by the Ministry of Religion to IAIN Palu as the host of the AICIS organizer.

"This opening will take place in the Great Mosque of Darussalam Palu, coupled with several activities," said Dr Abidin during a meeting on the preparation of President Joko Widodo's attendance agenda and evaluation of the achievement of the progress of the AICIS committee.

Abidin explained, besides the Ministry of Religion, the Ministry of State Secretariat also requested the agenda of President Jokowi's visit to Palu regarding AICIS.

President Joko Widodo is planned to arrive on September 18, 2018 in Palu, morning. President Joko Widodo will be welcomed by among others Minister of Religion Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Central Sulawesi Governor, Longki Djanggola, Rector of IAIN Palu Prof. Sagaf S Pettalongi, M.Pd, Chairperson of Central Sulawesi DPRD Aminuddin Ponulele, Mayor of Palu Hidayat, Director of Islamic Education Kamaruddin Amin, Director of Islamic Higher Education Arskal Salim, Chairperson of PTKIN Chancellor Forum, Central Sulawesi Regional Leadership Communication Forum.

From Mutiara Palu Airport, President Jokowi, Minister of Religion Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and his entourage will head to the Siranindi Governor's Residence House on Jalan Mohammad Yamin.

From the Central Sulawesi Governor's Position House, the President will head to the location of the AICIS opening in the Great Mosque of Palu.

 

In addition to delivering a speech and opening the AICIS, explained Abidin, President Jokowi will also hand over symbolic assistance consisting of the Indonesia Pintar Program (PIP) scholarship, then submit bidikmisi scholarships to IAIN Palu students.

 

IAIN Palu is trusted by the Ministry of Religion to host the VIII AICIS organizer in 2018. This national and international scale event will be attended by hundreds of academics from within and outside the country.

AICIS is also a media for promoting the potential of marine and religious tourism owned by Central Sulawesi. AICIS will also be a place for Kaili Tribe culture and culinary promotion in Central Sulawesi.

AICIS also has an impact on improving the economy of the community in the area from the service sector.
